Suitable Sample:
  • SERUM

Minimum Sample Size:
  • 3.0 mL whole blood
Turnaround Time:
  • Run once a week
  • Contact laboratory for expected time of completion of test.

Comments:
  • Measures IgE to a wide range of potential allergens (specific allergens).
  • Haemolysis interferes.
  • Antiinflammatory doses of corticosteroids should not significantly suppress IgE production. However, immunosuppressive doses (or other immunosuppressants) will reduce Ab levels.
