Alpha-1 AGP is an acute phase protein that rises during inflammation. This test is not specific for FIP, but levels >1.5 g/L have a reported sensitivity of 85% and specificity of 100%, and efficiency of 90% in separating cats with FIP from cats with clinically similar conditions.
