Dr Celia Smuts graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1994 and has completed extensive post-graduate training including a Masters by coursework and a PhD at Murdoch University.

Celia has worked in general practice in South Africa, the UK and Australia. She has 5 years of diagnostic pathology experience, has three primary publications, and has previously worked as a lecturer at Murdoch University.

Celia completed her clinical pathology training in a residency program at Murdoch during which time she became a member of the ANZCVS in pathology, and became board certified in 2014. Celia finds the most rewarding aspects of her job to be finding something unexpected, working with other people with similar interests, and constantly learning new things.
