About

Emily graduated from James Cook University in 2012 and initially worked in mixed animal and small animal general practices in Innisfail, Canberra and Melbourne, before settling in Brisbane.

Emily began her pathology journey in 2017 studying for a PhD in pathology of bladder diseases in cats and dogs at the University of Queensland, and was awarded her PhD in 2020.

In 2021, Emily achieved Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in pathobiology, and was awarded Diplomate status of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.

Emily has worked in a commercial diagnostic laboratory, and as a veterinary pathologist in academia - lecturing at the University of Queensland involving pathology, teaching and research.

Outside of her work, Emily enjoys spending time with her partner and their two cats.
